Jackie Smelser

Meet Jackie. I’ve been lucky enough to live in Bend and to have practiced Physical Therapy for 15 years.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
I’ve been married for 17 years, have two little dudes and a big ole dog, Maggie Jo.

Q: Please tell us about your current career. What do you love most about what you do?
I am so grateful to work as a Physical Therapist. I opened my own practice, Sunrise Physio, in February 2020 and specialize in Women’s Health PT. I work with men and women of all ages and I love treating pelvic/spine issues, feet, sports injuries and shoulder pain. I’ve been lucky to learn from some amazing PT’s in my life and sharing what I’ve learned with patients is truly my favorite thing to do. I absolutely LOVE to see hope return to people’s bodies when they realize they are going to feel better and get back to the things that bring them joy.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Spork! Wild Rose! Palate! Truffled Marrow Burger at The Row 🙂

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
An 88 year old patient who came in for 1/10 knee pain when he hiked 15 miles, 3 times a week. He set a new standard for what I want my life to look like when I’m 88 and forever will inspire me to keep moving and not give up exercising!
