Meet Mark Espanet. Mark is a Residential Property Manager at Seasons at Farmington Reserve in the Old Farm District section of Bend. Mark always has a smile on his face and is just a wonderful young man!
Please tell us a little bit about your family.
A: I am the middle of 3 brothers to my parents Rick and Kathy. My younger brother Brain (who we call Brain due to a spelling error on his license) is a starting sophomore wide receiver for the football team at my Alma mater, the University of New Hampshire. My older brother Kevin just got married this May at a small, indoor ceremony – due to Covid-19 restrictions. My parents have been married for 35 years and both work in their community back in Massachusetts.
Please tell us about your current career. What do you love most about what you do?
A: I am currently working in Property Management for a luxury apartment complex (Seasons at Farmington Reserve) here in Bend, Oregon. There’s a lot of things I love about my job, but I’d say my favorite is being able to meet and work with all different types of people. You never really know who’s going to walk in the door and it is fascinating meeting people from all over the country and world! On top of that, the team at Seasons is top of the line.
Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
A: “I have lived and worked in Bend for just about a year!”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: “If I could travel anywhere in the world right now it would be back home to see my family in Massachusetts. Visiting Germany is also very high on my list.”
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: “Couple of my favorite shows include: Burn Notice, How I Met Your Mother, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Parks and Recreation.”
Q: What advice would you give to people?
A: “General piece of advice: It’s okay to ask for help.”
Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would you meet for this lunch?
A: “Definitely not a typical answer but I would love to have lunch with a group of old time Italian Mobsters. To name a few of my favorites: Foxy Jerothe, Albert Anastasia, John Gotti and Paulie Vario “
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
A: “The people! Bend is such an interesting blend of proud locals and exciting transports. Yeah the mountains and rivers are beautiful but the people in Bend are what make it so unique.”
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: “I want to ride a bike into a pool. Looks too fun!”
Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?
A: “My go-to band is either the Revivalists or Moon Taxi.”
Q: In hard times we can sometimes see and recognize greatness in those around us. Hard working. Positive attitudes. Helping on the front lines. Who is one of our local shining lights today?
A: “Postal workers and delivery drivers haven’t been getting enough credit. We appreciate all of you!”
Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
A: “The most beautiful place I have ever been was the Grand Tetons. When I was driving cross country from Boston to Bend my dad and I stayed a night a the park and it was unbelievable. That whole place is a postcard.”
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: “Month of May is my favorite,Thanksgiving Day is my favorite holiday and the best day in the calendar is Christmas Eve.”
Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
A: “My mother’s shepherd’s pie!”
Q: Who would you want to play you in a movie about your life?
A: “Comedian Chris Distefano.”
Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
A: “Fresh cut grass and Barbecue.”

A: “My younger brother Brian.”
